Scuderia Sarasota (aka: Scuderia Sanzogni) was founded by Ferrari owners Jim DeRespino, Wolfhard Weise, Michael Brown and Paul Sloan through our association with Luciano and Dino Sanzogni's Ferrari Repair Shop in Sarasota (other exotics as well). It was through Luciano and Dino that we were introduced to one another and from that introduction we began to gather weekly for lunch in Luciano's Shop (aka: "The Clubhouse") and then informal dinners at a local Italian Ristorante. As time went by more and more of Luciano's customers became known to us and I began to develop an e-mail list and the unscheduled dinners soon involved into monthly dinners. Jim, Michael, Wolfhard and Paul still meet quite often for lunch at the Clubhouse. You do not have to be a customer of Luciano and Dino's to be added to the list but you must own a Ferrari or have previously been a Ferrari owner. If you wish to ever join us for one of our informal lunches at Luciano and Dino's Shop just let one of us know. Scuderia Sarasota now in its 4th year is an unofficial group of Ferrari owners, we have no Board, no dues and pledge no allegiances to either Ferrari Car Club and thus remain free of car club politics (as free as we can get). Scuderia Sarasota does not endorse or announce any FCA or FOC event and they do not announce our events. We exist solely as a group of Ferrari owners who like to share the experience and the passion without the club formalities. We get together the First Monday of every month for Dinner at a different Ristorante each time and also get together for Sunday rallies (when scheduled) and drives to different events around the state. The February 2005 dinner will be our 42nd consecutive monthly dinner and we average between 20 and 40 attendees each month. Scuderia Sarasota in 2004 also began events at member’s homes and a special thank goes out to Charlie and Suzi Morganthaler and Bob and Sharon Goeldner for having us at their homes. If you wish to host an event please let me know. Privacy Policy: Organizations and businesses wishing to solicit you often request the e-mail list maintained by Scuderia Sarasota, Scuderia Sarasota will not supply this e-mail list to any group or anyone for any reason. South Florida Sister Group: Scuderia Sarasota has a Sister (Ugly Stepsister) group in South Florida that operates under the same principals as Scuderia Sarasota they however have a website which you may find of interest: http://home.comcast.net/~barton_workman/ssfinfo.html What about other exotics?: Scuderia Sarasota was formed by a group of Ferrari owners as a Ferrari social organization. As time has past some in our group have crossed over to the “Dark Side” and purchased Lambo’s so as a courtesy along with some pity we have decided to let those who have done such a silly thing join us. However be prepared to suffer some stuff razzing about Lambo’s racing heritage (there is none just in case no one told you). Porsches, Yugo’s and other like vehicles are not consider exotic and will be asked to park around back….way back. Rules: Don’t have any Board: Don’t have any Dues: Don’t have any (I do accept bribes and handouts) Complaints: Please contact the Board Best regards, Paul Sloan |
